Life is Pink!

Today I'm sporting pink and florals -the ideal 'girly' combination for summer. I love my pink pumps and to add a new twist to it, can you guess what I did to them?? Of course!I added little bows! Black bows seemed perfect for this pair of pumps!  I wanted to use different colored bows but these black ones have been so versatile! .....So voila!A new pair of shoes created :) If you're ever bored with your shoes, go ahead and experiment-The DIY world is your stage!

I've added satin ribbons, feathers, lace and modpodged them with glitter(I am soon going to be road testing them for the blog!- so wait for it!).  I am all for re-using, up-cycling and mixing n matching to create new outfits,looks and shoes without spending much! So go for it you gals!

A woman's bag is a little world in itself. Today I'm sharing my must have's in a bag and what I usually have in mine. What are your must have's in your everyday tote??

Casual pencil skirt

I have always dressed up the pencil skirt formally. I have wanted to wear my yellow one more often and not limit it to formal settings. Paired with a grey tank and a pair of Indian jootis from Jaipur, I think it makes for a fun, casual and 'dressed-down' look.

Oh ooh, and I tied a bow to the back of my tank :) Obsessed with bows am I? That's an understatement!

Chevron

Another trend which has been around for sometime now is the Chevron stripe. I wouldn't say I would have grabbed any dress with Chevron on it-they are around everywhere even now; but the dresses are pretty cute!
I have had this dress for sometime now, a la Missoni (just kidding ;)  )-had bought this way back in 2010 I think. I have worn it as a tunic with tights and jeans and as a dress with and without a belt.
I am jazzing it up black and gold today with a pair of gold stilettos, a black boyfriend style blazer and gold cuff bracelets. Have you made a Chevron statement yet? :)

Bow thong sandals

I saw this cute pair of bow thong sandals online and got immediately obsessed! I have loved bows since I was a little girl, when I went to school with little ribbon bows on my ponytails and plaits :) Remember how I used these little black bows earlier?(See here , here and here). Here they go onto the thongs!

 A little about the pendant..My notorious little Ginger somehow climbed the couch and got to this beautiful Turkish Nazar wall hanging which I picked up from Istanbul long back to decorate my home. She chewed up the tapestry, while I salvaged this little piece that remained from the spoils. Huh!It's so difficult to have pretty things at home :(  Anyway, pretty Ginger is still quite a handful but we're blessed to have her!

Its officially summer, but the best part about being in the bay area is the breeze, which allows you to use elements from your fall/winter wardrobe, whenever you like!So I am using my peplum jacket with jeans this time, and gold accessories.

Man bag Monday

Today I am wearing a simple top and pants, accessorizing with a man bag. It's perfect for organizing things instead of just dumping everything in one or two compartments(which most of my bags have). I have to confess its a little heavy for me but no doubt a fun accessory!

The shoes were an old pair of Zara ballerinas chewed up by my pretty Ginger! I mod podged fabric onto them and added little bows to create a pair of floral flats.Fun DIY to create a new pair of shoes!There's a lovely tutorial I was inspired by. You can check it out here!

I have been wanting a pair of palazzo pants for some time now and my sister (my best mind reader) gifted me this beautiful swallow printed pair. They're so comfortable and flowy (especially since I put on weight after being fed by my mom  ;) ) , I wear them all the time-perfect lounge pants!

So obviously, something so comfortable had to be worn out too :). Perfect for sunny days paired with a hat aye?
