Dusty pink

Good morning!

Hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful Easter!I spent my weekend getting a haircut, gorging on Brazilian food and attending the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown. I find Sakura or cherry blossoms so romantic and exotic, especially when the breeze blows and little petals create a heavenly shower! :)

Here are some snapshots of pretty cherry blossom trees!

Inspired by the pink, the theme is a dusty pink with my favorite pair of shoes-they are an old pair from Forever New! Forever New, how long do I have to wait until you arrive here??Sigh!
The outfit is simple with a dusty pink jacket and shoes paired with a classic white shirt blue jeans look. A statement necklace, as always to add a little oomph :)
Spring always calls for some form of pink and it's always trending around this time of the year! There's a beautiful video on the sakura and the tsunami that hit Japan in 2011;how it is tied to the lives of the Japanese. You can find the trailer here but I recommend the complete video-it's heart wrenching, beautiful and inspiring! To cherry blossoms!Cheers!

Blue

Happy blue i.e :)

Am shooting with props today!!;) ;) I finally did get myself a little Parisian souvenir chest from my favorite store Michaels!I still have the Roman one, but I got sold on the English blue of the Paris themed one right away.I have to stop getting sold!!!....Sigh!Pretty things!!

The mood is a happy blue!Kind of a monotone but that's where the glitter flats come in! And yes...I haven't gotten over my glitter shoes syndrome..I am even comparing glitter ballet flats with my little cousins-something common to talk about aye?!:) They love dressing up too and like their Mom and Dad say, they're turning into me! The littlest of them already has a shoe fetish!!She's like hardly 4!!!She dresses up in pretty pink tutu skirts and glitter flats, little peacoats and cowboy boots..she's already a charismatic style icon!Little ones these days..they're always a notch ahead!

Have a great weekend!Dress up and stay chic! <3

Phanek + Blazer

Good morning!

I am being a good girl today!I have been up since early morning working on a blog post-high time ain't it? :)

Hope you're having a great middle of the week! It's perfect spring time with just that right amount of breeze and sunshine!
It's been a while since I put up a traditional Manipuri outfit so here's one! :)

I have paired a cognac and black woolen tribal phanek(wrap/sarong) with a rust top, a black blazer and some accessories. It's the wool that's bulky-not me ;) Blame it on the wool eh? lol.. I have yet to master the art of wrapping the wrap!:) Women in the North East go about their day-household chores, going to college, cycling even playing badminton in their phaneks! And trust me most of them do not wear belts or tie their phaneks/sarongs with string of any kind! One end is just neatly tucked in. Sigh!

For now I am just belting it!Hey, but i climbed a hill last summer wearing the phanek...without a belt!!And i survived, phanek in place, scaling the hilltop..I can't complain can I?? :)  I have been out of touch -that's what it is..hmmm..anyway!So here it is my tribal outfit!

A little update!

Hi friends!

It's been a while..I know...was pretty tied up with tons of things!I went back to school after ages, we moved and between attending classes, packing and unpacking, I've hardly had any time!!

We're almost set up and getting used to our new environs and neighbors but I miss our old place! :(

But here's another way to look at it-new beginnings.. new adventures!

I have been needing some motivation to set up my closet instead of prolongedly living out of suitcases! My first attempt doesn't have much to be talked about!;)

I got myself this cute 'Rome' treasure chest to organize my little souvenirs and knick knacks. Parisian is more my style but this chest was too cute to pass up!

Here's a  Parisian treasure chest and Here's a full sized Parisian cabinet if you're interested!

And like I always say, I'll be back, playing dress up!So stay tuned!! :)
