Fall 2013 shoe trends interpreted

Lets talk Shoes! Here's my interpretation of 5 fall shoe trends!

1. Tough boots
To be honest, I am not a big fan of the tough boots I've seen that have set this trend on the runway!I am more of a  girly girl..The furthest I would go is maybe experimenting with combat or cowboy boots; my sister is more of the combat boot kinda gal but I'm not so sure-not me! Cowboy boots with short dresses are cute but I've been crazy about them when sported by little girls! 

 2. Loafer detailing
Tassels,glitter, chained-yes, I am totally voting for this!A classic tasseled loafer has been on my wishlist for some time now! (Wow my wishlists are never ending!) This classic white loafer from Forever new was drool-worthy;alas no access to forever new for me :(

3. Prints
Love love love! :) Florals, plaid, leopard! Sport your prints this fall-on pumps,loafers,toms or booties!

4. Lace up heels
This trend I love!There are so many choices out there with the lace up detail! My flounce 'jules' pump qualifies for it too :).

5. Sandal Boots
Ummm- not so much, so have interpreted subtler styles for it-more like gladiator heels but works don't you think??

Fall wishlist!

It's almost end of August and temperatures in the bay are dropping bit by bit.It gets dark at 8 pm, a half an hour ahead unlike in the mid of summer!..And I'm already preparing my early fall wishlist!

A couple of pieces-including:
1.A navy military style flared peacoat-very chic for a while!
2.A lovely classic white flared basic(I love this so much though I already have a white one!)
3.A Burberry look-alike trench coat since the original is so out of reach!
4.A floral cardigan:I am a granny when it comes to floral anything!
5.A navy lace dress-Have been wanting one for over half a year now!
6. Lace oxford shoes!-you can pair them with anything from a dress to baggy pants and leggings!
7. A lovely white faux fur scarf!(perfect when it gets a little chilly)

Bird print+baggy pants

Baggy pants are trending right now. Here's my take on it. I paired my pair of dull olive green pants(stick with one that flatters your body type);which I picked up from Canberra while traveling in Australia; with a grey bird print top and a pair of bow flats. Fuss free for an outing to the doggie park with my beloved Ginger! :)

Retro style

Friday's here-my favorite day of the week!Yay!!

As you know, I've been raving on and on about Modcloth. I recently bought these oxford shooties and have been in love ever since! True retro style! I have paired these cuties with a sleeveless khadi(Indian hand spun cotton cloth) top and a floral skirt. Tied my hair into a bun and am wearing my favorite olive branch headband-Laid back Friday mode!

Floral dream!

When I came upon Forever New(the Australian brand) for the first time, it was a dream come true! Am serious! :) Here was a brand I could identify with, one that was offering what I was exactly looking for! It epitomized the true essence of what I idealize in fashion, why I love clothes; it sizzles with elegance, chic and all things dreamy and girly!

I have been in love with the brand forever since. This is the brand that I had in my head if I ever turned to designing! :)

I fell in love with the Melbourne store(I don't remember the street!) the moment I set foot in it and used to keep going back there just to sit, dream and go nuts shopping!
Alas we don't have the brand in America nor does it provide shipping yet!I am so in love with the brand that I actually wrote to them to set up shop here in the US!LOL!I am that crazy sometimes!But they were so sweet to reply!
So until this dream comes true, here's what I'm lusting after at Forever New! Sigh!

I'm in love!These are my most wanted summer dresses!Especially the emerald green macrame lace Valentino dress!!!-way out of my budget though!! Someday! :)

Lace and florals have been my favorite this summer-yet again!Very feminine, very elegant,very chic!They never go out of style-atleast not for me!

The Tricolor

Happy Indian Independence Day!

I'm paying a tribute to my country by wearing the colors of its flag;the Tri-color ;Saffron, White and Green. An orange top(not saffron but close) and green pants and a hint of white with my little pouch.

The Indian flag has always had a profound effect on me. It has the power to knot me up in the chest too! That's the effect patriotism has on me!:) So here's paying tribute to India and her independence in my own way, despite being far away from its soil!Have a great day friends! Love!

Applique lace trim top

Good morning!

A no fuss, simple lace trim top, peplum hem pencil skirt, paired with flats for a long day on one's toes at work!I have kept the tones neutral with black, white and beige.

An applique lace trim dress has been long on my wishlist-a black lace trim one especially. This top at forever 21 was too pretty to pass up. I paired it with black to create an illusion of continuum with the lace around the waistline. That's the exact dress I've been looking for!So until I find my perfect applique beauty, I'll make do with this outfit! Have a beautiful day!Stay happy and take care!

Crochet top

I've been a lover of crochet since I was a little girl. Mama used to crochet sometimes and I remember the cool breezy window, with curtains blowing; by which she used to sit and embroider, crochet, knit and stitch for us :) . I was one of the lucky girls growing up, whose clothes used to be stitched by mum with pretty little flowers and butterflies, now vintage, now very Etsy! :)

Crochet has been in for sometime now. The top I'm wearing is my take on the crochet trend!

I have paired it with a black and gold ethnic Indian maxi skirt and a pair of satin blue pumps. I love the way this skirt ruffles when I move.Having fun with dressing up as always! Have a great day and week ahead!

Coral shoes!

Coral shoes to light up a cloudy day! Hmm..some coral nail paint would've complimented the shoes better!Will keep that in mind the next time!

I am pairing my coral wedges with a navy deep back printed, wide neck top and light blue jeans. Navy seems to compliment coral and the shoes being the highlight of the outfit, I've kept the other elements subtle. I've accessorized with a vintage gold necklace and simple gold studs earrings.
